Shaping the future of
Mexican American Philosophy
Advancing Mexican American philosophy in all its diverse forms, fostering inquiry into issues that matter to Mexican Americans and the broader Latin American community.
For generations, Mexican American voices have been underrepresented in philosophy.
The Mexican American Philosophy Summer Institute (SMAP) was established to address the longstanding absence of Mexican American voices in the discipline. As the first program of its kind, SMAP provides a space where students and scholars engage in philosophical inquiry, mentorship, and community-building. Through this work, the institute is expanding the boundaries of philosophical scholarship and supporting the next generation of Mexican American thinkers.
